Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences
Championing excellence in oral health
The Faculty of Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences aims to increase access to world-class dental care for better life outcomes in Canada and beyond.
Good oral health is essential to our overall health and well-being, and the Faculty is addressing global public health challenges and inequities posed by insufficient dental care.
By leveraging rapid advances in digital dentistry and technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), advancing new areas of research, and expanding our community outreach programs, we teach the next generation of dental medicine professionals the importance of service to society.
Today’s dental students will be key players in building a better world for the future and in improving the quality of life of every individual in society. Their well-being and resilience is critical to their success; with your help, we can ensure the Faculty provides them with the resources and skills they will need to help mitigate disease burden and bring about better health outcomes around the world.
Fostering transformative research
The Faculty is renowned for its research excellence and established strategic research clusters. We are working to advance new research in areas such as sustainable dentistry, bone and rare diseases, digital health, oral cancers, AI, and the study of the microbiome, while encouraging in parallel clinical, community-based education, and social innovation.
With your support, our Transdisciplinary Dental Medicine and Oral Health Sciences Research Program will improve health outcomes for communities and empower research collaborations between key stakeholders: clinicians, researchers, policymakers, community members and patient-partners.
