Schulich School of Music
Bringing music to life.
Music reflects who we are as individuals and communities. With your support, the Schulich School of Music will empower musicians to strengthen our bonds with each other.
The Schulich School of Music aims to foster artistic citizenship, where musical and performance skills and abilities contribute to the well-being and empowerment of artists as well as their communities. Through excellence in teaching and learning, we nurture artistic and academic excellence that values both tradition and innovation.
Providing a unique intersection of music performance, creation, research and technology, the School is positioned to shape the future of music. In building strong and imaginative connections to multiple disciplines, the School strives to create an inclusive and inspiring environment that prioritizes the health and wellness of our artists and of the communities they serve.
Supporting holistic artistic excellence
As Canada’s top-ranked music school, the Schulich School of Music offers an unparalleled breadth and depth of educational opportunities in the performing arts, humanities, science and technology. Your support will help create the Music Excellence Campaign – a unique initiative in Canada to fully support artistic and scholarly excellence in music. This initiative will include:
- Major full-ride scholarships and fellowships that provide comprehensive support for outstanding scholars and artists.
- Entrance and in-course scholarships and fellowships that will ensure all students can benefit from world-class training at the Schulich School of Music.

Building bridges with music
In an increasingly fractured world, music can maintain our connection with humanity. Through artistic expression and engagement with society, music has the potential to provide healing and connection.
Donor support will help the School support Artistic Citizenship in Music, which will provide students with valuable cross-disciplinary insights so they can develop critical skills to adapt to evolving social contexts and changing circumstances.
The initiative will expand experiential learning opportunities, off-campus performances, internships with non-profit artistic societies, and community teaching experiences.
Enriching lives through music
The Schulich School of Music is rooted in Montreal – a multicultural community with a vibrant and world-renowned music and cultural scene. Every year, our students’ talents are on display in over 700 public events – almost all free – that enrich the lives of tens of thousands of concertgoers.
Your support for our Partnerships and Outreach program will increase opportunities for McGill musicians to perform in the community, and for the community to come to McGill.
With your help, we will continue to build bridges across disciplinary, geographic and cultural boundaries.

The Music Opportunities Fund
